11.8.2020 (Tue) Market closed

HSI: 24,890 +513, turnover 141.3b.

HSI reached the upward tunnel again.  It will be upsurge if it breaks through, or drop rapidly otherwise.  Tomorrow will be quite crucil.

HSBC performed well, much better than my expectation.  Upward trend is confirmed.

I may need to review my forecast, as people behind appear to be very short sighted.  They just want to make profit from killing bull and bear and do not care about longer term strategy.

Currently holding

HSBC: 40,000 shares
7500: 200,000 shares

HSBC performed well, thanks to poor performance of 388 and 700.  No option but to use it to influence index.  It rose too fast in the past few days.  Sold 12,000 shares at $35.45.

It seems they want to kill 25,300 bears.  May buy more 7500 when HSI rises near that level in the afternoon.

Honestly I am quite disappointed. Not because the market goes in an opposite direction, but realised that nowadays they become so short- sighted. It seems killing bulls and bears is the only thing that they care.

Planned to buy additional 50,000 shares of 7500 at 6.23, but the order remains unexecuted.

Some change of strategy is required.

May increase short position in the next one or two days due to sudden change in NOI.

HSBC is doing very well. That said, I may offload 12,000 shares at suitable price for the same reason.

HSI: 25,214 -30, turnover 65.2b, less than yesterday.

HSBC fell, unexpectedly.

Bought 50,000 shares of 7500 at $6.2.

HSI may fall within this one or two days.

HSI: 25,231 -13, turnover 116.4b.

They tried to kill 25,500 bear in the morning but in vain.  HSI retreated to 25,200 level rapidly and little fluctuation since then.  It shows that the driving force is subsiding.

It appears that Dow, A shares and HSI have reached a level that should be very cautious.  For Dow, it is not easy to stand above 28,000.  25,300 also has strong resistance as far as HSI is concerned.  A shares?  No comment on a crazy market.

No change in stock holding in thr afternoon.  No change in my view on market trend too.

Tomorrow is Friday.  Friday is not a good day for investors.

HSI: 25,183 - 47, turnover 103.3b, very low level.

HSBC fell further.  Will buy back when it falls below $34.  Still have 28,000 shares in hand.

Bought 50,000 shares of 7500 at $6.195.  Sold 100,000 shares of 7500 at $6.295. Stock holding reduced to 250,000 shares.

Market Review: NOI was at low level (about 38,000) in early August.  It increased to some 44,000 in the past few days.  The most updated position has yet been published.  If it remains at high level, big correction is expected (as NOI was built between 24,800 and 25,300).

Strategy Review: Will more focus on short term trend.  Why?  Market players are short sighted.  You will be punished if you are not.

HSI: 25,506, +323, turnover 70.9b.

Index jumped unexpectedly.  25,500 bears were killed.  It seems they want to evaporize the remaining value too.

HSBC is weak.

Purely luck to offload 100,000 shares of 7500.  Bought back 50,000 at $6.13 this morning.

If the rise is to kill bear, it will falls at least 200 points in the afternoon.  Otherwise, the upward trend will be confirmed.

HSBC kept falling.  If it falls to $34 or lower, will buy back some.

HSI slightly retreated some 250 points from day high in the afternoon.  Turnover is still on thr low side.  It shows that the driving forcee is not that strong.

You can tell from HSI movement that only a small number of market participants are trading blue chips.  It means index can be influenced by using just a few billion dollars.  Hence, trading derivatives is tentamount to committing suicide.

388 and 700 have lost momentum.  So they buy up oversold stocks to pull up the market.  Does it work?  It does to some extent but may not be as effective, as small investors like me prefer to hold oversold/underpriced stocks.

Strategy: HSI is expected to fall today.  More 7500 will be bought in the morning.

HSBC $34.25, -$0.35.  Further drop is expected.  Will buy when it falls below $34.

It seems many people expect the market to fall and thus it refuses to follow.  I still believe the market will fall to 24,000 or lower near end August.

Stock holding remains unchanged.  Over confidence is dangerous.

HSI: 25,179 -188, turnover 84.6b.

Index was up some 70 points after market yesterday and the turnover was high during that period.  Normally the trend will reverse the next day.  It is the case this time.

Today the index was down after market and the turnover is high.  Does it mean that the market will go up tomorrow.  Let us wait and see.

HSBC is $34.15, down $0.10.  Not too bad compared with the market and other vlue chips.

Sold 50,000 shares of 7500 at $6.31.

Currently holding 28,000 shares of HSBC and 250,000 shares of 7500.
